Stuart Morris
Founder of Birmingham Holistic Health Centre
There have been times in my life, perhaps like yours, where I never thought I’d get through, times where I could not see a way out and yet as hard as these experiences were, I have gained insight into human nature that has served me well and perhaps on reflection, I see that without them, I would not be able to do the work I do today.
I was a market lad at school and after school and then a bricklayer until the age of 26, when I was diagnosed with a form of cancer, named non Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
That time in my life became the catalyst for my path towards service to others, although I didn’t realise at the time.
It led me on a path towards spirituality, meaning and purpose, I still walk that path today only now accompanying others like you in helping them discover the same gifts often hidden amongst the turmoil of life.
I spent 7, years from the age of 28 gaining qualifications, eventually teaching pranayama yoga at Birmingham University, one of only 60 teachers worldwide, and then going on to establish the complimentary therapy unit at Birmingham University working alongside the physiotherapist to the British Olympic team.
Through a series of coincidences, I was led to the lakeside centre, kings Norton and took on one room and then as I was offered another room, I took each room on until over a 10 year period, it grew into Birmingham Holistic Health Centre with 6 rooms, a training school and a good group of therapists.
I always wanted the centre to be a place that anyone could come to, to find some peace, some time to think, to be, it was never about the money, still isn’t and that invitation still stands today, it’s open for you to come here anytime.
I have witnessed pain in my life, lost a brother in law whom I loved dearly to suicide, another passing away in front of me, held my mother after she had a stole all night, nursed my son through 7 years of chronic illness ending up in intense care. I have walked a similar path with my wife and so much more. Yet, I remain grateful to be able to those experiences as I it has only deepened my resolve to help people through the various experiences of there life, offering a skill set of therapeutic interventions, that change the perspective of the person I work with.
That has been reward enough to help and to remain in contact with hundreds of people over decades whose lives have transformed from that initial trauma to coping and even some thriving.
Is there a magic ingredient, or any one way? I have witnessed miracles, I have seen things turn around against all odds and the only part I can say I played, was to care enough.
The rest, I hold no claim over, except to add,, “God moves in mysterious ways”
My life changed again in 2017 when I was guided to Harry Edwards and I wrote a book which tells that story available here on this website for those inquisitive enough to read or listen to “In the company of Harry *
I am now a trustee at Harry Edwards foundation

My life has been shaped by the coincidences and perhaps you have found this page, by the same route, in which case, come see me.
I remain grateful for you in trusting me to help you with your search for meaning and purpose.
