Food intolerance is a condition with a range of symptoms including gut symptoms, bloating, headaches, migraines, low mood, fatigue, weight gain and skin problems.Â
At Birmingham Holistic Health Centre we work directly with
Lorisian who specialise in offering laboratory tests that measure food-specific IgG antibodies which are sometimes referred to as food intolerances.
Through a simple blood test which we send off to the expert team at Lorisian who use a proven scientific method to help pinpoint food triggers that may be affecting an individual’s health and lifestyle underpinned by the principle that each person’s digestive sensitivities are as unique as their DNA.
Over 45{4957ac4cf499e49763b21041745c9dd389af099b002b9a043574525170776bf1} of the population react adversely to foods that they eat, which whilst not life threatening, can have a massive impact on someone’s quality of work and home life.
The way that food can affect our everyday life is often difficult to explain and it is common for people to try and eliminate foods from their diet to help themselves feel better. Often they don’t know which foods to try and eliminate and have to guess. Many people don’t know that identifying food intolerances can be an important element of optimising health and wellbeing.
Lorisian, has 35 years’ experience, specialising in laboratory tests that measure food triggers (food-specific IgG antibodies). Our results offer a fast track or starting point for an elimination diet. The tests are aimed at those that may have food intolerances, and those who want to optimise their diets by avoiding any foods that they are reacting to. Our aim is to promote wellbeing within the pressures of a modern lifestyle. There are 3 testing options available with reactions to 75, 100 or 150 different food ingredients tested.
Food intolerance is a condition with a range of symptoms including gut symptoms, bloating, headaches, migraines, low mood, fatigue, weight gain and skin problems. These symptoms must always be checked out by a Medical Professional. If you have seen a Medical Professional but have not been given a diagnosis for your symptoms then they you be suffering from food intolerance.
It is well known that diet and gut health affect mental health symptoms such as stress-related disorders, depression and anxiety1. Bi-directional signalling between the gut and the brain includes communication via the immune system, central nervous system and the endocrine (hormonal) system which in turn impacts mood and behaviour.
The food choices that are made by every individual, both because of survival needs and taste preference, cause a substantial and significant variability in gut microbiota. Alterations in the gut, including gut permeability and the composition of the gut microbiome are now considered to be important for treatment across an array of medical conditions.
There is an increasing body of literature that links diet and the composition of the gut microbiome to mental health disorders, .
A survey, commissioned by Allergy UK was carried out with 5286 people reporting a wide range of chronic symptoms, who had taken the YorkTest – or to give it its scientific name – a food-specific IgG enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) blood test.

Testimonials
For as long as I can remember I have suffered with terrible acne, back acne and mouth ulcers. I tried every cream, gel, beauty regime, prescription medicine and natural remedy. I even went to see a specialist who took several swab and blood tests but then told me there was nothing wrong and I was “normal”. After almost a year of an unsuccessful elimination diet I came across this food intolerance test.
Stuart was very encouraging and the whole process was quick and simple. Within a week I had my results and they were very surprising! Two months later I can say this is the best thing I’ve ever done and it has changed my life. My skin is clearing up nicely and my confidence has soared. I highly recommend everyone to do this test!
