Dr Ranjit Kaur

HCPC Registered Counselling Psychologist

Reiki Master

Auricular Acupuncturist

I am an enthusiastic, motivated and highly experienced Chartered Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).  I have worked with children, adolescents and adults for over 25 years in both the NHS and private sector. I have extensive knowledge and experience of working with people and their families with issues that can affect the entire lifespan and reflect a range of clinical severities, making me adaptable and innovative in my approach.

The breadth of my experience includes working with clients, from varying social, economical and ethnic backgrounds, enabling me to deal with people’s differences and challenges, in a culturally sensitive way. I am able, to draw upon my own experiences by bringing my whole self to the therapy session. It is integral that I am authentic with my clients, in building connection and rapport, whilst maintaining professional boundaries.

As an Integrative Therapist the foundation of my practice is to adopt a humanistic approach; person-centred and keeping the values of the person at the heart of the therapy. I have a particular interest in the mind body connection and treat my clients holistically; our emotions impact us psychologically and physically. As a Reiki Master and Auricular Acupuncturist if felt appropriate these can be integrated as part of the therapeutic journey or be experienced as standalone treatments.

My therapeutic approaches include Person Centred therapy, art therapy, play informed therapy, Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural therapy (DBT-YP), mindfulness-based interventions; the safe and sound protocol (SSP)

My current specialisms are working with attachment and trauma; I also have extensive experience in working with neurodiverse clients. I have expertise in working with young people and adults and those with complex trauma.

Areas of interest: Attachment and Trauma; Bereavement and Loss; Family and Relationship Issues; Anxiety; Depression; Stress and Burnout; Low self-esteem; Life changing illness and injury; Health difficulties; Life transitions; Divorce Counselling; Substance Misuse; LGBTQ; Transitioning.

Sandra Wathall (MBACP) – Counsellor  and  EFT Practitioner

As a professional counsellor my aim is to provide a safe, nurturing space for you to explore whatever is troubling you. No concern is too big or too small, if it is getting in the way of you living the life you want, then it matters.

I am trained in Integrative Counselling, which means I draw on and combine elements of various approaches depending upon your individual needs. I also incorporate creative activities when appropriate, which may include writing, drawing, visualisation, and relaxation exercises. Together we would agree on what would be most helpful.

These are some of the reasons people have come to see me:

Emotional Freedom Technique

This is a gentle way of releasing ourselves from stuck emotions or patterns of behaviour/thought. By skillful focussing on the issues concerned and then guided tapping using one’s own fingertips, tapping on specific parts of the head and upper body, it is possible to find release and freedom from fears and phobias and deep emotional wounds that limit us.

I can provide this as a stand-alone therapy or incorporate it into counselling sessions.

I am a UKCP and BACP registered psychotherapist

I offer a non-judgmental and confidential space for you to explore what you are struggling with. Talking about what is going on for you might seem small, but from those small conversations, big changes can occur.

I am not here to tell you what is wrong with you or instruct you on what to do. I am here to walk alongside you, to be a confidante and a guiding hand as you work out what it is you need next.

Often in life, we are expected to fulfil many roles. Some we may have chosen, others we might have had put on us. Therapy is a space where you can be yourself; where the roles you play in life can be shed and you get a chance to just be you.

From this place of being you, we can work together to decide how you want to live.

I am passionate about therapy as a space where people can find time for themselves, a space to reflect on life and what they want from it, and a space to grow to their full potential.

I have an ongoing commitment to studying and learning to improve as a therapist and I hold an up-to-date enhanced DBS.
