I have had an interest in alternative therapies for a number of years since I was diagnosed with demyelinating disease in 2008. It was apparent to me that my symptoms were much worse when I was stressed or tired.

Reiki, (Level 2, Practitioner)

This led to me training in Reiki. There are many types of Reiki but I have trained and remain with the method taught by Dr Mikau Usui who ‘re-discovered’ Reiki after a 21 day fasting & prayer practice on Mt Kumara near Kyoto. Reiki is a form of healing where the healer connects the receiver to the ‘universal life force’ known as ‘Chi’. The experience can bring a complete sense of calm and relaxation and in many cases can support a persons life decisions when making improvements to their health and wellbeing.

Indian Head Massage

I am a trained Indian Head Massage therapist with a Guild Training International qualification.

IHM, also known as “Champissage” has been practiced for thousands of years and has been a vital part of family life in India. Children were taught at an early age to give and receive IHM so there was a strong bond in the family. Women in the family would give and receive together in a circle as it would produce lustrous, healthy hair.

The technique used today in Britain was developed by Narendra Mehta who studied the different techniques used in various parts of Indian society and developed an holistic method to restore the body’s energy balance and bring calm and relaxation. It focuses on the upper back, upper arms, shoulders, neck, scalp and face and whilst is considered a massage it is actually working with the chakras and marma points (energy points) to restore balance.

Naturopathic Health Coach (DipCNM)

I am a qualified Naturopathic Health Coach trained through the College of Naturopathic Medicine. A Health Coach helps people to gain the knowledge, skills, tools and confidence to take responsibility of their diet and lifestyle, helping them to reach their health goals. I will help you identify your barriers and together we create a plan that suits you and I will motivate you to achieve and maintain your short or long term aims. I take a holistic view of a client’s life so together we can look at the overall picture and, as a team, take positive actions to improve those areas that need some attention. We look at healthier foods, relevant exercise, eradicating toxins and stress free routines.

A Health Coach’s role isn’t to tell somebody what to do but to help educate them to choose how they can improve their life. I support a person to be empowered and not feel their health is out of their control and something that ‘just happens to them’.

We do a 90 minute consultation and look at your lifestyle in detail. We identify the areas you want to improve and together formulate a plan.

This can then be supported with follow up sessions 45 minutes each.

Many thanks
